C1 Protector Controller provides simultaneous display and alarm functions for up to 16 input channels. A graphic LCD displays data as trends, bargraphs or engineering units. Three adjustable alarm levels per channel with LED indicators are provided. Four common relay outputs allow control of beacons, horns and other alarm events. The horn relay may be set for steady or pulsing operation.

Input options include an 8 channel analog input board (2x for 16 inputs) and an 8 channel bridge-type input board (2x for 16 inputs) with signal conditioning for direct interface to GDS Corp catalytic bead, SmartIR or PID sensors. In addition, a standard RS-485 MODBUS master port allows input data to be retrieved from remote MODBUS slave devices such as GASMAX II (wired) or GASMAX ECx or IIx (wireless) gas monitors. Any channel can be programmed to accept data from either input source. A standard RS-485 MODBUS slave port allows a remote MODBUS master to read C1 setup and channel data in realtime. Cross-connecting the master and slave interfaces allows two controllers to act as a single unit.

C1 options such as channel-specific discrete alarm relays, eight or sixteen 4-20mA outputs, MODBUS TCP and others can be easily added for versatile system configurations that satisfy the most challenging user applications.

The C1 is CSA certified for use in Class I, Division 2 potentially hazardous areas and has C22.2 No. 152 approval for LEL combustible receivers. Magnetic switch inputs allow operation of C1 controls without opening the enclosure.

The C1 Protector Controller is available in panel mount, rack mount, NEMA 4X composite or stainless steel and NEMA 7 explosion proof enclosures.
